Welcome back and happy new year! In case you missed it, grads and postdocs will be able to vote “yes” in an election later this month to officially form our union. We have a unique opportunity to make our voices heard and change our working conditions for the better. Read on for election logistics and details regarding info sessions/discussions on the election process, bargaining, and the benefits of unionization more broadly. 

Election details

  • When: January 31 and February 1 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm
  • Where: Ramo Auditorium Lobby
  • How: In person, except for eligible mail-voters assigned to work outside the LA area

There will be a zoom information session on January 19th at 12PM discussing what bargaining could look like at Caltech. RSVP to get the link! 

There will also be a series of coffee hours hosted by both grads and postdocs where you can discuss your questions in an informal setting. Swing by for free coffee, and keep an eye out for additional dates!
