We are excited to begin holding regular steward coffee hours, and the first one will be on Thursday (8/28) at 10:30-11:30 at Red Door.
Stewards are your fellow graduate student workers and postdocs who are familiar with our contract and are able to answer questions and help guide you through potential issues. You might already know a steward (there are currently 31 stewards across campus), but in any case this is a great opportunity to connect with your stewards and enjoy some light refreshments. This coffee hour will be hosted by EAS stewards, but anyone is welcome to attend! Future coffee hours will be hosted by stewards from different divisions.
Also, we have an election for stewards coming up, and there are still open slots for stewards in every division. If you’d like to help make sure your fellow grads and postdocs access all of their contractually-guaranteed rights, consider running for steward! All 2478 members have automatically been nominated. Email your acceptance of your nomination to elections@cgpu.org before the nomination period closes at 11:59pm on August 29th to run.
