I have served as a union steward and have been actively involved in multiple organizing efforts since our initial unionization campaign. Through this work, I’ve developed a strong understanding of our union’s values and the responsibility we have to one another as members.

As Sergeant-at-Arms, I will work to ensure our meetings are orderly, respectful, and productive so that every member’s voice can be heard. I will remain committed to maintaining the structure, fairness, and integrity of our local.

I am a first-year graduate student in Environmental Science and Engineering. I’ve been so excited to see what our union has built in the year since its establishment, and I want to secure the protections won in our contract by helping our workers know their rights and what to do if they are violated. Over this year, I spent time talking to members of our unit in GPS and across campus, discussing the benefits of union membership, and building support to reform the dismissal process in CCE. I look forward to helping new and returning students understand how they can add strength to our union as we organize towards bargaining for a new contract next year.

Candidate statement:

Immigrant rights, higher education and science research, green policies, and the rights of workers are currently under existential threat, issues that members at our local are particularly concerned about. The UAW and the broader labor movement must take a bold stance and champion these issues, while placing workers front and center, which as a delegate I commit to fighting for at the UAW Constitutional Convention.
