If you’ve voted in the union election already, thank you for using your voice!

The decision to unionize should be a democratic one, and democracy requires high participation. If you haven’t yet, please take a few minutes to stop by the Ramo Auditorium lobby and cast your vote. The polls are open from 9am-1pm and 3pm-7pm, and voting is quick. Today is the last day to vote!

Voting “Yes” means you want to form our union, Caltech Grads and Postdocs United, so we can negotiate with Caltech to improve our working conditions. High turnout will send a strong message to Caltech administration that we are serious about negotiating for improvements, like stronger protections from discrimination, harassment, and abusive conduct; higher wages; better healthcare; and protections for international scholars.

Check out caltechgpu.org/vote/ for more election information. You can also get answers to some frequently asked questions, information on what unionized graduate students and postdocs have won at other universities, and a statement signed by hundreds of us grads and postdocs about why we are voting yes.

See you at the polls!

Sincerely,
Shruteek Mairal, CCE, G1
