Caltech has a responsibility to protect its international scholars, which make up over half of its graduate student workers (GSW) and postdoc population.
The GSWs and postdocs of UAW 2478, in solidarity with these international scholars, have written a list of demands for Caltech to better protect its international workers. We believe these demands are reasonable, as similar demands are being made at other universities across the country. We move that Caltech support its students in the same way other institutions have supported theirs (eg. Tufts).
We will be delivering this letter to Provost David Tirell’s office TOMORROW, April 25th, as a group. We will meet at the lawn in front of Red Door at 10am, then we will walk together to Parsons-Gates.
